TSN journalist Natalya Nagorna publishes her first book

The edition consists of four parts, in each of which there is a story on behalf of different people. All stories are illustrated with thematic author's drawings of Natalya Nagornaya in the genre of naive art. According to the author's idea, the girl Sasha draws her fears and joys with colored chalk, her military father Oleksandr conveys her experiences with coal in Donbas, and her mother Yasya depicts her thoughts with fine paste. The cat Sopun also appears in these stories - one of those front-line Donbas four-legged friends who save soldiers from the cold and shelling, and then return from the war with them. Not all the heroes of this book had time to be born, but even they were affected by these terrible events.

"No book will explain to us why holding a machine is sometimes easier than holding a phone that does not answer. After all, soldiers are told how to fight, but for some reason they do not write how to stop and live on afterwards. Without ghosts, memories and night terrors, Natalya Nagorna talks about her first book. - This book is not really about the war. There are no heroes, exploits and feats in it, but there is life, love and expectation. The war is just an accident for these people, just the background of their events. The book was published because we have no right to despair."

The book "Returning from the War" is being published thanks to the efforts of the "DIPA" publishing house, which has recently been paying attention to high-quality military prose. The first edition is 1,500 copies. The presentation of the book will take place on April 28 at the Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War, where the exhibition of the history of the Russian-Ukrainian war, created together with TSN journalists, is currently being held.
