The process of transition to the modern 16:9 format began in 2016 and is part of the general strategy of 1+1 media in terms of launching HD versions of its own channels.

Now viewers will be able to watch their favorite movies, programs and series of channels "1+1", "2+2", "TET", "UNIAN", "PLYUSPLUS", "Curlers", "1+1 International" in widescreen and without , so-called "black bars" on the screen.

"For the 1+1 media group, this means that on June 1 at 12:00 p.m. we entered a new era of 16:9/HD channels, saying goodbye to the 4:3 era forever," comments Pylyp Petrenko, technical director of the 1+1 media group.
