TSN correspondents checked how the winners and finalists of the National Selection for Eurovision 2024 know the rules of the Ukrainian language

Do the winners of the National Selection know how many letters there are in the Ukrainian alphabet? Why did YAKTAK apologize to his teacher? And why did Melovin sweat when he met journalists?

TSN correspondents Dmytro Furdak and Inna Lebedenko visited the backstage of the National Selection for Eurovision in a new episode of the project "Talking Tongue with Lebedenko and Furdak" on TSN's YouTube channel.

We started with the winners of the National Selection, the duo Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil. Do the performers know how many letters there are in the Ukrainian alphabet?

Alyona Alyona believes that there are just over 20 letters. However, she was corrected by Jerry Heil - 33 letters.

The next question is, what is a verification?

"A bag? Measurement?", Alyona Alyona tries to guess.

But everything is much simpler. Reconciliation is a squirrel.

The YAKTAK performer graduated from school not long ago, so the rules of the Ukrainian language should still be fresh in his memory. At least that's what Inna Lebedenko and Dmytro Furdak thought.

"...the band Tvorchi, and in particular, in their song there are the words 'despite the pain, I continue my fight'. So what kind of word is 'pain'?" Inna Lebedenko asks.

"With a catch (question - ed.). The main one is when it is in the head. Is it feminine? And here, pain is probably masculine," YAKTAK thinks and immediately apologizes to his teacher for not knowing the rules. It was a discovery for him that in Ukrainian the word "pain" is masculine.

Melovin was the last to appear in the episode. He was frank.

"I can sincerely confess to you that I don't know the rules of the Ukrainian language, I go by my gut," he said.

But the singer still managed to list the cases.

"It's so good that I have makeup on and you can't see the sweat," says Melovin.

Did Melovin cope with the ending? And which task turned out to be the most difficult for all the participants of the National Selection for Eurovision? Watch the new episode of the project "Tongue-in-cheek with Lebedenko and Furdak" on TSN's YouTube channel at https://bit.ly/3SqfgXg.
