TSN correspondents forced the author of the viral track "Hopak" to analyse her mistakes in the lyrics
How many mistakes can you find in the songs of Yulia Lushchynska, the singer known for her internet hit "I am a good Ukrainian, I dance hopak"? And what's wrong with her social media?
TSN correspondents Dmytro Furdak and Inna Lebedenko together with the singer analysed her linguistic gaffes in the new issue of "Tongue in cheek with Lebedenko and Furdak".
They started with Yulia Lushchynska's hit song "Hopak". Yulia sang it right in the studio, and mistakes were immediately discovered.
"The first (mistake - ed.) is from 'PDA'. I'll say right away that it was the traffic rules. But I'm an author, I can see that," Yulia jokes.
"The author," Dmytro Furdak corrects her.
"And the song also contains the words 'I press the gas - I always move forward'. The correspondents corrected her - it should be "press".
And then they went to Yulia's social media.
"At all my concerts, no matter what state of health I am in, no matter what the weather conditions are, I always sing live. This is my principled position," Yulia says in her Instagram video. And here's the rub.
"No matter what condition I'm in," Yulia immediately corrects herself in the studio, "I sing live."
And her position is principled.
"I disgraced myself in my old age," Yulia begins her next video.
"Disgraced is wrong," she realised.
"Hint - when we had mass gatherings allowed, what did people usually shout at them?" asks Dmytro Furdak.
"Shame," Yulia replied.
"I mean, disgraced!", Dmytro Furdak and Inna Lebedenko say.
