Kovtan Nadiya - Site editor (trainee) tsn.ua

One of my favorite sayings is "If not now, then when?" I believe that it is better to try and see what will come out of it, than not to try and torment yourself with thoughts of how it could have been.

courage

Internship for me probably started when I dared to make a video resume. I'm terribly afraid of the camera and making videos is another challenge for me.

responsibility

After all stages of selection, we (five interns) immediately started working on the TSN.ua website - writing news about the most important and interesting events in Ukraine and the world.

My biggest fear was to click something somewhere and send something wrong to the site. Even the walls reminded us: "Everyone can see our work." And mistakes too.

It seemed that a century would pass until I finally remembered what and where is located in the administrative part of the site. Fortunately, everything turned out faster.

respect_and_love

It worked because there were people nearby who had the patience to explain and teach - curators. People who manage to do their work and follow you, help, explain and save you when you don't know what to do/what happened/how it turned out.

honesty

I remembered the structure of the site and news. Another stage began - reading the Constitution, laws and historical references at night. For example, now I know that it is forbidden to name streets and avenues after living people.

The funniest and most epic moment for me was on the Game of Thrones news. I translated the news, chose the most interesting. The girl-editor asks me: "Are you sure that there is "avoided death" in the text?" I answer that there is something unclear. "He is not resurrected," I say jokingly. "Sunday, in general," is the reply. Then I realized that it is necessary to check not only positions/laws/dates, etc., but also such seemingly unimportant things. And if you do not know or cannot find the necessary information, it is better to confess honestly and find a way out together.

openness

During the internship, we not only wrote news, but also took comments and interviews. What surprised me was that during the entire time, only one person refused to give an interview, and most people readily agreed. Some of the comments were sad, and I thought about these people for a long time and sympathized with them.

The interview had both funny and instructive moments. One girl told us about her childhood and said that she did not correspond to her vision of herself so much that she did not even want to change or do anything, because the goal seemed unattainable. She was talking about herself, and I was recalling a similar period in my life when I didn't even try to change anything because I thought it wouldn't work. The heroine of our interview reminded me of the importance of starting with something. Even if it's scary, even if you don't succeed, it's worth trying.
