The National Global Teacher Prize Ukraine will select the most talented teacher in the special nomination "Preschool" for the second time

This year, Osvitoria, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and UNICEF Ukraine are once again looking for a preschool teacher who is not only a skilled professional but also feels the needs of every child in their heart to honor with one of the most prestigious awards in education.

"Preschool education is crucial for a child's development, which is why it is mandatory in many countries. The basic values, personality traits, and love of learning are laid down in preschool. Last year, we already honored preschool teachers as part of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine, and we were convinced that we needed to continue. So, the next logical step was to introduce a special nomination for preschool. We are very pleased to be able to recognize the work of preschool teachers and educators!" says Zoya Lytvyn, head of Osvitoria and founder of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine.

The Preschool category is a part of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine and a crucial component of the New Ukrainian School concept. It seeks to ensure a smooth transition from kindergarten to school, opening up endless opportunities for every child.

"The participation of kindergarten teachers in such a prestigious competition as the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine emphasizes the importance and necessity of recognizing their work. They have hardly been talked about for thirty years, even though these people shape children's first impressions of the world and teach them the basics of social interaction and development. The visibility and recognition of the preschool teacher's profession will help raise the prestige of this work and attract new talented professionals. The teachers deserve our full recognition and support because they help create a happy and harmonious childhood for our children," said Yevheniia Smirnova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine for Preschool and Inclusion.

The winner of the Preschool nomination will have a unique opportunity to implement their educational project and become part of a large community of like-minded people who are improving the world of education every day.
