Radko Oksana - Copywriter (trainee) TV channel 1+1

1+1 has been my favorite TV channel since childhood. Since I was six years old, I dreamed that I would work there. However, at that time I wanted to be a news anchor.

For the first time, I sent a video resume for the position of site editor, but did not pass the group game. Therefore, when I sent my resume for the second time for the COPYWRITER specialty, I was very doubtful that I would be accepted for an internship. But a miracle happened. I completed the test task and passed the interview, and here I am in a comfortable office at 23 Kyrylivska Street.

Already on the first day, I was impressed by the corporate culture at the channel and the atmosphere of openness and friendliness. Mottoes-inscriptions on the walls; employees greet each other, even if they don't know each other. The mode of energy saving and secondary processing of waste works. Plastic is used to a minimum. There is an electronic university for advanced training in various fields, as well as many activities for employees: bicycle training; army camp for employees, etc. The people who create the product at the 1+1 Media company do not care. Often money is collected for charity. Some even visit animal shelters and help not only financially, but also with their own hands.

I am very grateful to my mentor Lena for her patience and practical tasks, thanks to which I got a little closer to the ability to write texts that touch hearts. After two months of internship, I finally understood what the copywriters in the on-air promo department do. Now I can explain to others: they announce the release of a new product: series/film/show/program. This is done by selecting the most interesting synchronicities (character phrases) and combining them into a coherent story. The author's text is sometimes added to this announcement - the actual copyright. The main task of the announcement is to interest the potential viewer as much as possible in a short time. That is, it is necessary to demonstrate the strengths of the product and add a little intrigue.

My education is screenwriting. I believed that the activity of a copywriter is very close to the specialty I received at the university. But now I understand that much closer to copywriting is marketing. I also realized that the work of a copywriter requires practice. After all, with each completed or reworked task, it became more and more clear in my head what the original, touching announcement should be.

The profession of a copywriter is very interesting. It is creative and also gives you the opportunity to create a product that will be seen by everyone. I like the products produced by 1+1 Media, so I really liked the internship, because I didn't have to deceive anyone. I announced\advertised the series\programs that I personally really liked. I would be happy if more Ukrainian viewers could see a quality Ukrainian product produced by the TV channel, which I like.

It was two crazy months of internship. I tried very hard to keep up with everything: both studying at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy for a master's degree, and helping my mother with repairs in the active stage. I just didn't have time to get enough sleep, but that's not so important. After all, the emotions and experience gained from the internship are worth it! Now I know what a company should look like that takes care of its employees and creates comfortable working conditions for them. Now I understand what a copywriter does and I am taking the first steps in becoming one. This profession interests me. I am very grateful to the 1+1 TV channel for such an opportunity for students to adapt to adulthood! Therefore, I encourage everyone who wants to change the direction of their life, learn something new, or join the work in a company that adheres to European values, to dare and send a video resume for a dream job.
