Speakers from 1+1 Media will hold lectures for the Summer Film School as part of the 15th Odessa International Film Festival in Kyiv

Ukrainian Cinema School has announced the program of the Summer Film School, which will take place on July 19-20 within the 15th Odessa International Film Festival in Kyiv and the Kinoprostir program at the Ukrainian House. During two days, participants of the Summer Film School will attend 16 lectures from Ukrainian and international cinematographers.

 

Corporate speakers from 1+1 Media will be lecturers at the Summer Film School, which will happen in Kyiv on July 19-20 as part of the Odessa International Film Festival. Creative producer of 2+2 channel, projects showrunner Serhiy Karpenko, screenwriter of 1+1 Production.Originals, and host at 1+1 Media Ruslan Sharipov, and the head of content department at Kyivstar TV Maryna Kaplun will share their professional experiences.The main topic of the event is Ukrainian cinema in the conditions of full-scale war.

On July 19, the first day of the Summer Film School, Sergey Karpenko will talk about the obstacles most often encountered during the creation of TV shows in conditions of full-scale invasion. Furthermore, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about methods for solving such problems. Also that day, Ruslan Sharipov will give a lecture titled "Treatment of documentary film as an instruction for shooting."

On the second day of the Summer Film School, July 20, Maryna Kaplun will present her lecture, discussing viewer preferences and providing advice on how to create a film product that will be popular on the OTT platform.

Day 1. July 19.

 

Topic: "What should Ukrainian cinema be like today?"

 

10.00 – 11.00. New storytelling in conditions of the war. Speaker: Lyubomyr Levytskyi, Ukrainian film director, screenwriter, producer.

 

11.10 – 12.10. Challenges and ways to solve them in creating series during the war. Speaker: Serhiy Karpenko, creative producer at 2+2 channel.

 

12.10 – 13.10. Artificial intelligence and innovative technologies in cinema and visual arts. Speaker: Yevhen Sannykov, head of research and innovation department at FILM.UA Group.

 

13.25 – 14.25. Treatment of a documentary film as an instruction for shooting. Speaker: Ruslan Sharipov, screenwriter at 1+1 Production.Originals, host at 1+1 Media.

 

13.25 – 14.25. Producing films during the war. Speaker: Kyrylo Gorobets, Ukrainian film producer, executive producer of FILM.UA Group, curator of the production program in Ukrainian Film School. 

 

14.55 – 15.55. Deconstruction principle: understanding global animation leaders. Speaker: Oleh Malamuzh, Ukrainian director of animated films ("The Stolen Princess", "Mavka. The Forest Song").

 

16.05 – 17.05. From idea to working with actors (workshop for directors and actors). Speaker: Taras Dron, Ukrainian film director, producer, screenwriter, member of the Ukrainian Film Academy.

 

17.15 – 18.15. Secrets of successful pitching. Speaker: Olekso Hladushevskyi, general producer of the first offline film festival of premier Ukrainian films "Mykolaichuk OPEN".

 

18.25 – 19.25. Promotion of national film products in the global market: challenges and solutions. Speaker: Elena Mikaberidze, Georgian film director.

 

Day 2. July 20.

 

Topic: "Documentary films – history live."

 

10.00 – 11.00. What do viewers want: what will make cinema popular on OTT platforms? Speaker: Maryna Kaplun, head of Content Department at Kyivstar TV.

 

11.10 – 12.40. Pop documentary. How to create a successful project. Speakers: Artem Hryhoryan and Maxym Serdiuk, director and producer, co-founders of the Ukrainian production studio Knife! films, currently focusing on pop documentary films.

 

12.50 – 13.50. Meeting with Serhiy Sozanovskyi, Ukrainian producer, founder of the Film.ua film studio.

 

14.10 – 15.10. Documentary film as a powerful tool for conveying messages to an international audience. Speaker: Alan Badoev, Ukrainian director, screenwriter, music video director, TV presenter, director of the documentary film "The Long Day".

 

15.30 – 17.30. Polish experience in creating documentary films. Speaker: Maciej Hamela, Polish film director and producer, known for his documentary films.

 

15.20 – 17.30. Casting process specifics and industry communication. Speaker: Oryna Petrova, Ukrainian casting director.

 

16.20 – 17.20. Creating dialogue with a character in a documentary project, challenges and their solutions. Speaker: Azad Safarov, film director, journalist, working in the war zone in Ukraine since 2014. He has collaborated with CNN, Radio Liberty, Euronews and since December 2021 he has been producing and coordinating Sky News' work in Ukraine.
