Media Literacy Week in Ukraine: Useful Resources to Improve Your Skills
From October 24 to 30, Media Literacy Week is taking place in Ukraine and around the world. The purpose of the event is to raise public awareness of the threats of information manipulations and to teach how to perceive information critically. As part of the initiative, we share a selection of media products, educational events, and special projects from 1+1 media, created to promote media literacy for beginners and professionals, adults and children.
Series "How to Protect Yourself from Fakes and Disinformation"
"How to protect yourself from fakes and disinformation" — 10 episodes, full of knowledge on countering fakes and disinformation, protecting personal data and safety tips on the Internet. This educational series provides viewers with practical media and information literacy skills that should become part of their life in conditions of full-scale war. It also explains how to navigate the information around and recognize disinformation and propaganda.

Lectures from The International online conference on media literacy are available in the format of pre-recorded speeches. Materials are full of knowledge on countering fakes and disinformation, protecting personal data and safety tips on the Internet.
Animated Series "Ukraine. Unbreakable Cities" by PLUSPLUS
The animated series "Ukraine. Unbreakable Cities" tells children about cities affected by the war. The 5-minute episodes inform about historical monuments in the context of modern reality and create parallels between the past and the present.
YouTube Special Project "Goodbye, Fake"
"Goodbye, Fake" is a series of practical tips which will help viewers recognize manipulations, fakes, deepfakes and fraudulent schemes, as well as teach them critical consumption of new. The program, created by the TSN team, is designed to make it possible for every viewer to swiftly and effectively recognize disinformation.
Special Rubric "Stop Fake" on "Breakfast with 1+1"
"Stop fake" - conversations in the program "Breakfast with 1+1" with leading experts in the field of fact-checking and cybersecurity. Participants share useful tips on media literacy, financial literacy and cybersecurity. They also analyze the latest examples of disinformation and explain methods of informational and psychological influence.

"Caution! Fake" is another humorous project by the 2+2 channel that exposes popular russian narratives and disinformation schemes in an easy and sarcastic manner. The videos are aimed at explaining to the audience how propaganda is trying to discredit Ukraine and form a distorted representation of reality.

"The True History of Donbas, Southern Ukraine, and Crimea" is a series of documentary investigations from the creators of the "Real History" project, which refutes russian myths about Ukrainian territories.
Film "Russian Octopus" by 2+2
"Russian Octopus" is an investigative film produced by the 2+2 channel, which demonstrates how russia promotes its propaganda abroad. The project reveals the network of influence that the Kremlin has built through cultural initiatives, non-governmental organizations, and research centers that help spread disinformation and form international policy in favor of russia.

Also among the initiatives is the video series "Cybersecurity. UA," which explains key aspects of security in cyberspace.The series teaches how to protect data, avoid financial fraud, use social media correctly, and counter cybercriminals, especially during the information war.

Special Media Literacy Materials from UNIAN
The UNIAN news agency regularly publishes articles and interview series with Ukrainian and international experts who share advice on information hygiene. They analyze modern propaganda materials, providing examples of how to recognize misinformation.
Special attention should be given to the author's columns and interviews with international experts who analyze in detail the most relevant narratives of Russian propaganda.The anthology covers the period from the beginning of the armed aggression of russia in 2014 to the present full-scale war, helping to understand the logic and mechanisms of information attacks of the Kremlin.

Media literacy — basis for effective protection against disinformation and fakes, as well as, an important tool for preserving democratic values during the war.
