The Higher School of Media & Production is celebrating seven years

On September 22, the educational project 1+1 media V ischa School of Media & Production turned 7 years old. Since 2013, the school has been actively implementing its main mission — to improve the level of Ukrainian media education and provide the market with quality personnel.

Over the 7 years of its existence, the Higher School has graduated more than 1,700 students, and more than 2,000 students have joined online lectures in a year. 290 graduates got a job at 1+1 media and became part of the People of Ideas team, and about 400 filled the personnel reserve of the media holding.

Every year, the school improves the areas of educational programs and introduces new ones. Thus, from the beginning of 2020, a new direction, the Children's Media School, was launched, the mentor of which was the host of the morning program "Sunday Breakfast" Valentina Hamaiko. At the beginning of September, the Higher School launched a project aimed at spreading knowledge about media literacy in Ukrainian schools, within the framework of which a special program "Media course for schoolchildren" was developed, which will be studied by students of the A+ Gymnasium and Primus Inter Pares School from September. The host of "Breakfast with 1+1" Yehor Hordeev became the curator of the course for Ukrainian schools. The new course will make it possible to spread knowledge about the field of media and media education, which is a necessary component of the general education process in modern realities.

In the conditions of a strict quarantine, the Higher School increased the number of online classes and trainings with 1+1 media specialists, holding lectures on all thematic areas studied by students: journalism, production, communications. In total, online lectures of the Higher School gathered more than 2,000 participants.

Many of last year's innovations of the school are bringing their results. About 100 students successfully completed the unique "International media school" program, which the Higher School developed in partnership with Study.ua, having received a strong foundation of knowledge and skills for admission to international universities for creative majors.

"The ambitious goal set by the company in 2013, when creating the Higher School, demonstrates today its relevance, timeliness and demand among the audience. For 7 years, we have seen how not only university graduates or students, but also industry representatives come to study with us, which is extremely valuable to us. We provide a unique opportunity to acquire practical skills, using the capabilities of 1+1 media and to receive knowledge from the leading experts of the media holding, who are ready to share their skills and concentrate of practical advice. We have a lot to be proud of, and we have new goals ahead of us and less ambitious plans for improving educational programs and launching new directions," says Yuriy Bilokur, head of the Higher School of Media & Production.

"Our team is constantly working on improving courses and approaches to teaching at the Higher School. This year, we launched 8 new courses, and despite the difficulties of the first half of the year, we managed not to slow down the momentum of the educational process. We follow the trends and plan to introduce more and more online formats into the education system in the coming year, because we are convinced that quality media education should be available. As part of updated programs and courses, we plan to present a new school website very soon, and we continue to actively work on the development of an online platform. The eighth year of activity of the Higher School of Media & Production promises to be rich and incredibly interesting," says Olga Musiyko, HR director of 1+1 media.
