Law on mobilisation: who will have a deferral and what will be the punishment for evaders? A TSN correspondent investigated.

How does it differ from the previous one? Will people liable for military service be served with electronic summonses?

TSN correspondent Olena Hushchyk sought answers in a new episode of the project "Question of the Day" on the TSN Youtube channel.

First of all, about sanctions. Now, the TCC will not be able to impose penalties on tax evaders on its own.

"According to the new rules, sanctions should be imposed by the court," explains Olena Hushchyk, "and the sanctions are the same: a temporary restriction on travelling abroad, driving a vehicle, seizure of money and other valuables of the fugitive.

The lawmakers plan to reform the sending of summonses.

"It is likely that subpoenas will be sent electronically. An electronic office for conscripts is to be created on the basis of the Oberig register. And when it appears, it will be mandatory to register there. In that office, conscripts will update their data if they want to move somewhere. However, the main thing is that it is the office where the call-up will be sent," says Olena Hushchyk.

But what if a person liable for military service does not see the call?

"This is important, because the law states that a summons is already considered served when it is sent to an electronic cabinet. And a person liable for military service, even if he has reasons for not coming to the CEC, must report it within three days," the correspondent explains.

"However, everyone will have to undergo the test within 9 months after the law is promulgated. This will be necessary for those who already have the status of partially fit to re-determine their status: fit or unfit for military service," says Olena Hushchyk.

The Cabinet of Ministers has also set a clear term of service - 36 months. However, the final decision on dismissal from service will remain with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

When can a new law on mobilisation be adopted? What sanctions will be imposed on those who evade the draft abroad? And what do lawmakers propose instead of conscription? Watch the new episode of "Question of the Day with Olena Hushchyk" on TSN's Youtube channel at https://bit.ly/3UuOvmW.
