The project "Ukraine. The return of your history" on 1+1 went beyond the limits of TV screens

Then, in 2016, during the filming of the historical detective story, the project team managed to find the true face of the Prince. After all, during the search, the researchers came to the conclusion that the reconstruction of the face of Yaroslav the Wise, which everyone knows from images in textbooks and monuments, is wrong. Thirty scientists: criminologists, anthropologists, archaeologists spent half a year looking for answers in the secret archive of the Vatican and other repositories around the world. In the end, scientists managed to find a real portrait of an outstanding figure. And now, the project has gone beyond television screens.

"TV channel 1+1 continues its mission of returning real history to Ukrainians. What happened in "Sofia Kyivska" is a continuation of the project "Ukraine. Reclaiming your history." This is the story of how our research, which was in the film, goes beyond the telecast and becomes available to everyone. We do it by means that are understandable and interesting to a young audience," says the author of the "Secrets of Great Ukrainians" and "Ukraine. The return of one's history" and "Treasures of the nation" by Akim Galimov.

We will remind, in the second film "Secrets of Great Ukrainians", the audience learned why instead of an honorable place in the pantheon of European monarchs, Anna was forgotten for a millennium. Today, European historians assume that the reason could be the temperament of Ukrainian women, for which they were not ready in the patriarchal society of medieval Europe. Secrets are connected with the figure of Anna of Kyiv, which can tell about our role in the history of Europe.

The next series of the cycle of documentary-historical films will be dedicated to an important figure whose story every Ukrainian knows — Roksolani. But whether she really was the way she is portrayed in the works and films, viewers of 1+1 will find out already this Sunday at 18:20.

Watch "Secrets of Great Ukrainians" every Sunday at 18:20 on TV channel 1+1.
