"To whom we are grateful": how was the special edition of "Breakfast with 1+1" for Independence Day

To the Independence Day of Ukraine, "Breakfast with 1+1" held a special broadcast dedicated to the people to whom the country is grateful for this year. The special edition of "Breakfast with 1+1" on August 24 became the leader in the morning slot from 6:30 to 11:30 and passed with the highest ratings. The rating of yesterday's issue by the audience 18-54 (50+) was 1.0%, the share was 11.4%.

Traditionally, all four presenters worked in the holiday studio - Yehor Gordeev, Nelya Shovkoplyas, Ruslan Senichkin and Lyudmila Barbir. The stars were dressed in patriotic embroidered dresses, and the usual terrace of "Breakfast with 1+1" was decorated with wild flowers, wreaths, ears of corn from wheat and rye fields.

The morning show team dedicated a special episode called "Those to whom we are grateful" to people of various professions, to whom Ukrainians owe a safe and comfortable life. The stories about this year's heroes were prepared by presenters, who the day before went to different parts of Ukraine to meet these extraordinary people in person.

Yes, Yehor Gordeev also told the story of Natalia Kostina, a brave doctor from Chernivtsi, who was the first to encounter Covid-19 in Ukraine. Ruslan Senichkin went to visit Oleh Karamov, a 28-year-old serviceman who has been defending Ukraine in Donbas for the seventh year in a row. Lyudmila Barbier prepared a sensitive plot about Olga Halepa, a teacher from the Kharkiv region, whose unusual rap lessons were studied remotely by schoolchildren from all over Ukraine during the quarantine. And Nelya Shovkoplyas p introduced the audience to selfless firefighter Serhii Reshmedilov - the commander of the fire brigade, which this year was the first to encounter one of the most powerful fires in the Chernobyl forests.

Also, during yesterday's broadcast, "Breakfast with 1+1" presented an inspiring patriotic video in which popular Ukrainian stars performed the National Anthem of Ukraine in various musical interpretations. It starred Vira Kekelia, Yevhen Khmara, Freedom Jazz and Kozak System.

Accompanied by virtuoso pianist Yevhen Khmary, singer Vira Kekelia begins to perform the main national song. Gentle musical rhythms are picked up by the Ukrainian band Freedom Jazz, adding melodies with a different, jazzy sound. Next, the lines of the Anthem are interpreted in a more rock style by the band Kozak System. And at the end, all the stars perform the chorus together.

The video was shot in Kyiv. In the video, Yevhen Khmara and Vira Kekelia, Kozak System, Freedom Jazz appear on three different outdoor platforms with fantastic views of Kyiv. In addition, the video also shows footage of incredible Ukrainian landscapes - seas, mountains, forests and meadows, as well as notable cultural sights.

The "Breakfast with 1+1" team worked on the creation of the video. The main director is Darya Kachkovska, the creative producer is Iryna Guley, the director of the video clip is Tetyana Alferova, the cameraman is Anton Ivanov, the sound engineer is Serhiy Rusanov, the editing director is Roman Kudrya, the arranger is Yevhen Khmara.

The guests of the festive broadcast were Bez Obmezhen, Sky, Kozak System, The Hardkiss and singer Tina Karol. In addition, especially for the Independence Day, the well-known language expert Oleksandr Avramenko together with this year's record holders of the ZNO held a lesson of the Ukrainian language in the open air. Culinary expert Yevhen Klopotenko prepared the "most Ukrainian" dish in the studio - authentic Ukrainian cob porridge. A special surprise for the audience was also prepared by the youngest presenter Efrosinia Melnyk, who read Volodymyr Sosyura's poem "Love Ukraine" live from Independence Square .
