In response to the appeal of Volodymyr Aryev, a People's Deputy of the "European Solidarity" party

In response to the address of Volodymyr Aryev, a People's Deputy of the "European Solidarity" party, we would like to comment that the 1+1 media group regards this and other statements of the deputy as political populism on a sensitive topic, and his judgments about our colleague Elena Yeremeyeva as evaluative and unfounded .

Please note that the entry of data into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations in no way indicates that our colleague has committed a criminal offense or the fact of its commission in general.

In accordance with Article 214 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the investigator (prosecutor) after submitting the application must in any case enter relevant information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations and start the investigation.

Therefore, when criminal proceedings are opened, the pretrial investigation body does not recognize the fact of the commission of a crime, does not assess the circumstances stated in the statement about the commission of a crime, but only formally begins the execution of procedural (investigative) actions provided for by law.

We note that in accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
