The inaction of the investigators regarding the non-return of the property seized from the journalist 1+1 was recognized by the court as illegal

The 1+1 media group informs about the progress of cases related to the SBU searches that took place on February 5, 2020 in the premises of the "Secret Materials" editorial office and in the journalists' apartments.

Today, February 27, 2020, a review of the complaint was held based on the results of the search of the residential premises and the seizure of property from the journalist of the TV channel "1+1" Denys Danek. The court decision of the Shevchenkiv District Court of Kyiv declared the inaction of the investigators regarding the non-return of the property seized during the search of the journalist's apartment 1+1 illegal. The court ordered the investigators to immediately return all the property seized during the search of the journalist's house.

The court's decision only confirms the position that was previously voiced by the 1+1 media group regarding the illegality, illegality and groundlessness of the SBU's actions.

We also inform you that the meeting of the investigating judge in response to the media holding's complaint regarding the search and return of system blocks seized from the company was rescheduled for March 4, as the investigator did not appear at the first hearing.

We emphasize that 1+1 media continues to protect the rights and interests of the media group and its employees and will inform the public about the further course of events.

We remind you that earlier the 1+1 media group appealed to the President of Ukraine, the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, authorized representatives of the VRU, state bodies and regulators, diplomatic missions and international organizations with a request to pay attention to the extraordinary and unprecedented actions of the Security Service of Ukraine during the pre-trial investigation and not allow a direct encroachment on freedom of speech, which is provided for in Article 34 of the Constitution of Ukraine.
