The 1+1 media group will exclusively and for free broadcast the Men's Volleyball World Championship

On Friday, August 26, the Men's Volleyball World Championship, which is organized by the FIVB (International Volleyball Federation) and will be held in Poland and Slovenia, will start.

The exclusive broadcaster of the championship in Ukraine will be the public national TV channel UNIAN , which is part of the 1+1 media group. The Polish television group Polsat, which owns the broadcasting rights, approached 1+1 media with a corresponding offer. Such rights are transferred to the media holding free of charge.

In addition to the free broadcast on TV, viewers will be able to join the viewing in free access on the Kyivstar TV online television platform, which is a partnership project of Kyivstar and 1+1 media.

"Currently, the whole world has rallied to support Ukraine and Ukrainians and is doing so on all possible fronts - cultural, informational, sports. At the same time, we understand how important it is to unite around major sports events that help fans switch at least a little from the terrible realities of today. Therefore, we supported the proposals of five football clubs in their desire to broadcast their matches free of charge within the UPL, despite all the negativity that is now being directed in our direction. At the same time, we support the offer of Polish partners and are grateful to them for such a conscious position. After all, our goal, like the goal of our partners, is to provide maximum free access to sports content. We would like to see a similar constructive approach now regarding all sports events," 1+1 media commented.

The first match, which will be broadcast by the UNIAN TV channel, will take place with the participation of the Ukrainian team on Saturday, August 27, at 9:30 p.m. The opponent of Ukraine will be the national team of Serbia.

By the way, first the World Volleyball Championship was supposed to be held in the Russian Federation. However, according to the decision of the International Volleyball Federation, Russia was completely excluded from the event. In March 2022, the place of the participants of the Russian national team was taken by the national team of Ukraine.

In turn, the 1+1 media group implements the socially important project "Sports Front", the purpose of which is to concentrate efforts on the topic of excluding Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in world competitions and championships while the war continues.
